Yesterday, Dec 21st NPR’s “All things considered” Andrea Seabrook had a talk with security and technology experts about one of the mundane but hugely important decisions that must be made by the Obama transition team - how the White House computers should run. Looks like Google and Microsoft are already pushing the White House to use the new “cloud computing”. One of the conclusions was “the internet IS cloud computing”. Oh well …
Kevin Jackson, a security expert, talks a little bit about security in the cloud, saying that cloud computing can be actually safer, in many cases, than non-cloud environment.

Not too long ago Google had finally graduated the Google Suggestions as an auto-complete features when you start typing your query terms in the search text box. I really like this feature, but Google has introduced advertisement inside that auto-complete list, which I am not sure if I like it.

Update: I have received some reports that not everyone has this feature enabled yet. I believe Google is deploying slowly to groups of people to test the new feature.

The new Force.com for Google App Engine lets developers create applications that span both salesforce.com and Google’s cloud computing platforms, and take advantage of the key features of both.
So what is Force.com for Google App Engine?
A Python library that lets you access the Force.com Web services API from within Google App Engine applications. Once it is installed in your Google App Engine application, the application can start to make callouts to the Force.com Web services API. Continue reading…
